Duration of the league is indefinite. You may sell your franchise if you wish to do so. However, a new franchise owner acquiring a team will NOT be allowed to draft in his finishing position. He will be automatically placed in the #8 position for the upcoming season.

Controversies

All controversies shall be submitted to the commissioners office & subsequently voted on by the majority of the league(major controversies). 2/3 vote is needed to make decisions.

*Trades may be made any time before the draft thru week #15. The trading season begins after each team has declared their respective franchise players. You may only trade the said declared franchise players before the draft. Example: The Bulldawgs retain Elvis Grbac as one of their franchise players & trade him to the Warriors for his first round pick in the upcoming draft. Players can be traded for draft picks or other declared franchise players. All trades must be approved through the commissioner. Drop & adds begin immediately after the draft.  Any player that gets cut from his NFL team before the regular season may be replaced with a free drop & add.   Regular season drop & adds are a buck. Drop order will be worst to first, by wins and losses.

Anything is tradable. Draft picks, players, uneven trades(2 for 1 player trades).  Teams making uneven trades MUST pick up players to fill their roster before submitting lineups.  You may NOT however trade more than 2 draft picks to the same team.  You can trade up to 10 draft picks(2 to each team) but not more than 2 per team.  This way not one team can continuously have multiple draft picks for more than 2 rounds from the same team.  Only rounds 1 through 10 are tradeable.

Trades must be finalized before the trade deadline. No "gifts" are allowed, i.e. allowing players to remain on current teams until the end of the season.  All players & picks & their ownership must be transferred to specified teams the trades before the trade deadline.

 All  trades must be reported before 11:59 P.M.. Saturday.

Pickups are done through the ESPN website.  You may submit your pickup selections via the espn website beginning Tuesdays.  You may put in for as many selections as you wish on Tuesday, with the order of selection worst to first.  You won't know what you get until Wednesday morning, when it becomes open.

The tiebreaker for all games is high QB points.

League title will be the team with the highest point total at the end of the season.

Traveling trophy is property of the league. The current League Champion may keep the traveling trophy for one callender year.  If the trophy is lost or stolen, the Title Holder MUST replace the trophy or play $150 to the Commissioner to replace it.  Acceptance of the trophy is accepting this responsibility.  Anyone not replacing a stolen, lost or damaged trophy shall not be allowed to participate in the UFL8.

 Owners failing to comply with financial obligations in a reasonable amount of time(6 weeks after conclusion of the season) will be terminated from the league.

 Roster is consisted of 28 players - 3 QB's / 6 RB's / 7 WR's / 2 TE's / 2 K's / 2 DF's /  2 DL'S / 2 LB'S / 2 DB'S / 2 Coaches

 Weekly roster shall include the following : 1 QB / 4 RB's / 4 WR's / 1 TE / 1 K / 1 DF /  1 DL / 1 DB / 1 LB. You may play TE's at the WR position if desired. You must play 1 TE at the TE position.  You may NOT play defensive players out of position.  

*If an offensive player plays defense OR a defensive player plays offense - attained statistics at a position that a said player does not play are not counted to point total.  ONLY scores(TD-Safety-2 Pt Conversion).  EXAMPLE:  WR Randy Moss plays defensive back.  He is listed as a WR & you have him in that position.  If he gets an INT, he recieves no points.  If he takes the INT for a TD he would recieve 6 pts.

Owners are required to retain 10 players from the previous years roster....1 player from every position. They may retain these players for up to 3 years. If a player is traded at any time during his franchise period his years will not reset. After 3 years the franchise player will be thrown back into the free agent pool. If a player is dropped & picked up again then retained for franchise purposes, his eligibility is reset, WITH EXCEPTION TO YEAR 3 PLAYERS.  Any year 3 player dropped remains a year 3 player and cannot be retained for the following season.

**In the event that a Franchise player is injured or has legal issues that prevent him from playing during the pre-season before the UFL8 draft, an owner may select an alternate player from their roster as a replacement.  If NFL.com reports that the player is indeed lost any amount of regular season games, the UFL8 owner will be allowed to select an alternative.  If he loses 2 or more players from a position in which he is only carrying the same number lost, the owner will have to select from his existing roster & will only pick an alternate from the free agent pool upon a league wide decision regarding the issue.

 In the event a player retires before the UFL8 draft, he is not an active player & may not be retained for franchise purposes.  If an owner protects a player that has announced his retirement & indeed stays retired until the UFL8 draft, he may not select an alternate player. Finally, if a player is listed as out for at least one regular season game & the UFL8 owner swaps him out for another player then said dropped player is listed as "in" for the first regular season game, the UFL8 owner may not swap again & reacquire him.

The UFL8 will use ESPN.com as its official scoring engine. All statistics & scoring will be taken from ESPN.com

 Any scoring discrepancies must be made public & to the attention of the commissioner before 5 p.m. Wednesday. Any scoring errors reported after that time will NOT be valid.

UFL8 ETHICS RULE:  It is with unfortunate circumstance that I must institute this rule.  If your team falls to 7th or 8th place during the regular season & you discontinue reporting a lineup after 1 week, the commissioner will accept responsibility of managing your team. THIS ALSO APPLYS TO TEAMS PARTICIPATING IN THE ULTIMATE BOWL REGARDLESS OF OVERALL STANDING.  If it is a conflict for the commissioner to manage your team(the commissioners team playing your team, or the commissioner is playing in the same division) he will seek the advice of setting your lineup from the following person:  Charley Young.  The commissioner will also make pickups only as a last resort for your team if you have no other viable option at the position in question.  The commissioner will be dedicated to fielding the best possible team from your existing roster.  Once your team has risen to 6th place or better, you will have the opportunity of managing your team again.  If your team toils away in the 7th or 8th position, you will NOT be rewarded your management privledges until the following season.  

*Benching players for the purpose of advancing other teams into the playoffs or to improve a draft position can result in expulsion from the league. If more than 30% of your starting lineup changes without an injury or poor previous performance to influence your week to week lineup, the Commissioner can issue a warning.  If the playoffs are effected by a team benching 30% of their starters, that team could recieve the DEATH PENALTY.*

 In conjunction with the above rule. If your team falls into the management of the commissioner & does not return to your management during the regular season the UFL8 owners will have the opportunity of voting the irresponsible owner out of the league. The 6 other owners & the commissioner will vote. A 4-3 vote or better will be necesary to vote out any owner.  This vote will be final.
